What We Do

One of the main goals of CTF Illinois is to foster community integration for the individuals we support. One way we accomplish this is through Competitive Employment Supports. Through this program, adults with developmental disabilities who are seeking community and competitive employment opportunities are given the supports necessary to accomplish this goal.

CTF Illinois works closely with participants every step of the way, discovering unique goals, passions, and talents. By working together, we feel we can find the employment opportunity that works best for each individual.

Competitive employment is beneficial for individuals with developmental disabilities for many reasons. By working in a competitive, community setting, individuals can gain greater independence, develop new skills and relationships, gain a greater sense of purpose and pride in accomplishments, take part in the community, and earn income.

Supports include: job assessment and matching, on-the-job training, financial security and health benefit education and information, transportation information and assistance, and more.
