ABOUT HOMEWOOD DAY PROGRAM
Homewood Day Program provides programs whereby individuals receive training in areas such as daily living skills, personal goals, sensory achievement, communication, and vocational training. Providing environments conducive to each individual's unique needs and abilities, the day program employs three Developmental Instructors and several Developmental Trainers, all of whom work closely to design and implement programs tailored to each individual's needs.

Our goal is to enrich the lives of those who attend our day program and maximize their potential. We do so by providing classroom activities such as music, exercise/fitness, vocational skills/work habits, arts and crafts, sign language, and self advocacy. We also have a senior group at this location with programs specific to those individual's needs. For those who have an interest in vocational opportunities, we have both on-site and off-site jobs such as janitorial work, dish washing, mailing, packaging, and light assembly work.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY OF HOMEWOOD
Homewood is a progressive city of nearly 19,000 located just south of I-80 East in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The city features a balance of industrial, educational and cultural opportunities. Close to large metropolitan areas having access to recreational sites and business and employment opportunities, Homewood offers a full range of community experiences.

The men and women attending the Homewood Park Day Program have many opportunities to participate in scheduled community outings. Many of the activities enjoyed by our individuals include going to the library, restaurants, local stores, parks, plays and programs at local colleges, and attending events in cultural, fine arts and nature in and around the city.
