ABOUT THE COMMUNITY OF CHAMPAIGN
The men and women residing at Devonshire have many opportunities to participate in their community. Movies, restaurants, and bowling are popular activities, as is attending cultural, fine arts, and sports events at the university. They participate in local and state Special Olympic events and have a wealth of recreational opportunities.
Devonshire CILA is located near the Univeristy of Illinois campus in Champaign-Urbana, enabling residents to truly integrate into their community. This home features 5 bedrooms of approximately 150 square feet each. The two bathrooms feature a tub/shower unit and there is an additional 1/2 bath in one of the bedrooms. This home also has a back porch and a large backyard with a small basketball court. Although not wheelchair accessible, it has a ramp to the front door for individuals who may have difficulty with stairs. This home is licensed by the Illinois Department of Human Services to provide residential supports and services to 8 people. Individuals receive 24-hour supervision and individual service plans.
Chamapign is a progressive city of nearly 75,000 located in east central Illinois, with the Champaign-Urbana metropolitan population approaching 120,000. Champaign, along with its neighboring city Urbana, is home to the state's flagship university, the University of Illinois.
