ABOUT 23rd STREET CILA
      23rd Street CILA is located in Mattoon where residents are truly integrated into the community. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, this home features 4 large bedrooms. This home is licensed by the Illinois Department of Human Services to provide residential supports and services to 8 people. There are two full bathrooms that feature a shower in one and a tub/shower combination in the other. Although 23rd Street is not wheelchair accessible, it has ramps in the front and rear of the home for individuals who have difficulty with stairs. Sensory integration is a focus with the individuals at this home and many of the activities are based on this technique. This home also has a large fish tank and a fountain located in a large fenced backyard. Individuals receive 24-hour supervision and individual service plans. CTF offers day training opportunities just 15 minutes away in historic downtown Charleston.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY OF MATTOON
     Mattoon is centrally located between Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. It is a prime example of a small progressive area supported in its many facets by warm and friendly people. It offers excellent educational facilities, a variety of churches, recreational facilities, cultural activities, including the arts, concerts, lectures and theater, modern medical facilities, a library, restaurants and other necessities one looks for and needs to maintain a full and satisfying living experience. CTF has also developed opportunities for increased interactions with EIU students through Gym Rec., hosted by students in the Therapeutic Recreation Department and through the Best Buddies Program where EIU students develop friendships with individuals.
